What is schema markup?
Schema markup is a small piece of structured data that you add to a web page. It tells search engines exactly what the page contains, such as a list of questions and answers, an article, or a local business with its address and phone number. This generator builds that code for you in the JSON-LD format, which is the format Google recommends.
How to use this Schema Markup Generator
- Choose a schema type from the drop-down: FAQ, Article or Local Business.
- Fill in the fields. The code at the bottom updates as you type.
- Press Copy code.
- Paste the code into your page using a Custom HTML block, or into the head section of your page with your theme or an SEO plugin.
- Test the page with Google's Rich Results Test and the Schema Markup Validator to make sure the code has no errors.

FAQ
Use it on a page that has real questions with answers written on the page. Add as many question and answer pairs as you need. Pairs with an empty question or answer are skipped. Make sure every question and answer in the code also appears in the visible text of your page.
Article
Use it for blog posts and news articles. Fill in the title, article URL, image URL, author name, publisher name and publish date. Empty fields are left out of the code.
Local Business
Use it for a shop, office or service business with a physical location. Add the business name, website, phone number, image, street address, city, state or province, postal code, country code and price range.
Why use schema markup?
- It helps search engines understand your page more clearly.
- It can make your result eligible for richer displays in search, depending on the type and on Google's current rules.
- It keeps your business details consistent, such as your name, address and phone number.
Please note: schema markup does not guarantee a rich result or a higher ranking. Google decides what to show. For example, FAQ rich results are now shown only for a limited set of websites, but the markup can still help search engines understand your content.
Tips for correct markup
- Only mark up content that visitors can actually see on the page.
- Do not add fake reviews, fake ratings or hidden text.
- Use full web addresses that begin with https://.
- Use the date format shown by the date picker so the date is read correctly.
- Re-test the page every time you change the markup.
Is my data safe?
Yes. The code is created inside your browser. What you type is not sent to our server and is not stored.
Frequently asked questions
What is JSON-LD?
JSON-LD is a way of writing structured data as a small block of code. It sits in its own script tag, so it does not change how your page looks.
Where do I paste the generated code?
You can paste it in a Custom HTML block on the page, or in the head section of the page. Either works for Google. In WordPress, many SEO plugins also have a place to add custom schema.
Is this schema generator free?
Yes. It is free and needs no signup.
Will schema markup improve my rankings?
Not directly. It helps search engines understand your content and may make your listing eligible for richer results, but it is not a ranking guarantee.
Can I add more than one schema type to a page?
Yes. Generate each type separately and add each code block to the page. For example, an article page can also include an FAQ block.
How do I check that my schema is correct?
Use Google's Rich Results Test or the Schema Markup Validator. Paste your page address or your code, and the tool will list any errors or warnings.
